A person who has been dating a Canadian citizen or permanent resident exclusively for at least a year and has met them (both parties must be at least 18 years old); ● An adult child or an independent child. ● A dependent child of a non-dependent child. ● A sibling, half-sibling, or step-sibling. ● A grandparent. Additionally, someone who is in a committed relationship with a Canadian citizen or permanent resident may bring their: ● Dependent child. ● Non-dependent child. ● Dependent child of a non-dependent child. If you are an immediate family member and your relative in Canada only temporarily resides there, you might still be permitted to visit them. Canada Family Visa Processing Time The general processing time for Canadian visa takes approximately 12 months. Canada Sponsorship Application If you are planning to sponsor your relative for their trip or immigration to Canada, you must adhere to basic eligibility criteria. ● You must be 18 years or older; ● You must be independent enough to meet their basic needs like food, water, accomodation; ● You must be a permanent resident. Family Sponsorship Canada As a Canadian citizen, if you are inviting your family to Canada, you have the legal option to sponsor few members. Given the condition that the person you are sponsoring should be financially dependent on you. After settling, the person can find work in Canada and survive by themselves. You must provide evidence that your travel is necessary. For instance, you might be moving in with your spouse or common-law partner. You cannot, however, be on the road for tourism, leisure, or entertainment. You do not require written authorization if you travel from the Abu Dhabi.
